Canon 17-40mm L Personal Review
Today is the first time i took this lens out for a field test and there is only one way to say this, THIS IS A VERY SHARP AND FAST LENS!
I heard over to the botanic garden with my family for some photo action and I am amazed by how incredible this lens is! The focus is fast, the image is sharp, it feel like it can handle anything thrown at it. Of course, it do have some issue with it, at least for mine. I personally feel that the zoom ring is kind of tight and it kind of uncomfortable to use. The focus ring on the other hand is kind of loose, making it hard to fine tune my focus. But keep this in mind, this is a wide angle lens thus precise focus like in macro is not needed. Most of the time the focus is spot on but if somehow the focus is off, I an easily just manual focus it since it have full time manual focus. Due to the short range, i feel that macro shoot with this lens is a big no no, i would rather pluck in my canon 60mm macro (which i did in some close up shot).
So in the nut shell, THIS is a VERY GOOD AND FAST lens! If you have money to spare and is looking for a good upgrade from your kit lens, please go ahead and buy this:)
Photos taken using this lens will be up soon!:)
